Description

In this issue, Supernova is diving deep… right into the swaying, sun-dappled world of kelp forests! At first glance, kelp might just look like seaweed waving in the water. But when you take a closer look, you’ll see a whole bustling city under the sea! Tiny fish dart between the leaves, sea otters use the kelp like cozy blankets, and crabs scuttle along the ocean floor. Every creature has a part to play, and together, they create a home that’s strong, beautiful, and full of life. And if you look closely, you’ll see that kelp forests are more than just beautiful – they’re busy, balanced communities.

They remind us that when everyone works together, amazing things can happen. The kelp itself provides shelter, food, and safety, and in return, the animals help keep the forest alive. It’s a lesson for us, too! In our own ‘forests’ of friends, family, and community, each of us has something special to contribute. And just like in a kelp forest, every person (no matter how small!) has a role that matters. So, as you turn these pages, I hope you’re inspired not just to learn about kelp and the world around you, but to think about the ‘forests’ in your own life – your friends, family, and community – and how you can offer support, help others, and protect the world you live in. Happy reading and happy exploring!
