Our days are so full that we often forget the saying ‘don’t forget to smell the roses’, never mind actually to smell the roses. But it really is important that you take time every day to stop and appreciate the little things and do what makes you happy.
Perhaps you have already heard of the 100 Happy Days challenge. It is a challenge just for you. If you start to think of it as a competition to be more happy than anyone else, then you have already lost the challenge. The challenge is there to help you look for at least one thing every day for 100 days that makes you happy. It can be anything from appreciating the pretty flowers in your garden to helping your mom or dad around the house. The challenge really helps you to connect with your environment and find your special place within it. Appreciation and happiness are also really good habits to form.
Need some help to get you started? Check out this issue’s ‘The Red List’ and discover the life in your garden. Yes, your garden is far more interesting than you think! While you’re in your garden, don’t forget to give your pooch some love and attention! You can read about how they became our best friends in this issue too.
