Holiday time at last! To me, holiday time means more time to do the things I really love to do. Even though I read and write for a living, during the holidays I get time to indulge in the stories that I love best.

Storytelling is, in my opinion, one of the most difficult things to do. You can’t give everything away in the first part of your story, but you need to be able to say just enough to keep your reader intrigued. It is an art that even the most skilled writers find difficult to achieve. They write many drafts before they’re satisfied with their work.

Sometimes, like these many drafts, certain stories change over time to suit the needs of the audience. Fairy tales and folklore do just this. We think you can handle the truth, so we delved into the little known original telling of the tales we have all come to love… Ooh, the intrigue! We also tell you about awesome adventures you could have of your very own this holiday – geocaching, flash mobs, surfing… the list is endless!

When your nose isn’t tucked into this super cool issue of Supernova, please remember to keep our beaches clean this holiday, drive safely and stay curious!

Happy holidays!
